Jess Cruickshank
Jess is a letterer/illustrator living and working in a tiny stone cottage in Sydney. She first discovered the joys of expressive hand lettering as a ten-year-old, studying and copying the handwritten pages in the ‘Baby-Sitters Club’ books. Since then, she’s completed a design degree and AWARD school, working in advertising for several years before jumping into lettering and illustration full time in 2015. She held a solo exhibition titled ‘I Believe In Space’, spoken at Typism conference and taught lettering workshops.
When she’s not hard at work, Jess can be found thinking about oysters, outer space, other people’s puppies, the different ways to draw an egg and her dream home — an oyster farm on Mars with many dogs, chickens and her husband, Tim, obviously!
